Counselling
There are many reasons why people seek counselling, and these are as varied as people themselves. Often it is when we feel stuck or overwhelmed by life, when everything becomes too much and we can see no way forward. Perhaps problems at home or in a relationship have reached a stalemate which can no longer be dealt with at home, together as a couple or as a family
Counselling can provide an opportunity to share negative thoughts and feelings in order to give them a new perspective and make them easier to understand and deal with. Often once all the hidden issues are openly acknowledged, and the fear removed that something else is lurking in the shadows, even ingrained problems can be lightened or solved.
Issues brought to family, couple and individual counselling include:
Depression | Anxiety | Bereavement and loss | Low self-esteem |
Relationship difficulties | Anger | Affairs and betrayal | Trust issues |
Sex addiction | Life transitions | Sexual difficulties | Stress |
Effects of illness | Issues relating to separation and divorce |
Family dilemmas | Child, adolescent and adult behaviour difficulties |
Mental health issues | Parenting issues | Step-family life | Self-harm |
Drug and alcohol misuse | The effects of trauma and abuse | Life cycle changes |
